Despite the weatherman forecasting rain on Saturday , it went around us to the north or south, leaving us under blue skies to wander Around the Ngapara pools area. Jo had set up a rogaine course in the area ,dropping off numbers at various spots in the Pools area as well as some up in the pines area. We were then given a map and told to try to find as many numbers as possible in 1 ½ hours, But we had to be back in 90 minutes ,otherwise we would start losing points. As we can see from the results below , some were more interested in the walk rather than getting back on time. At the other end some seemed to have A close relationship with the organizer Jo.
Those who took part enjoyed the afternoon , but for those who can’t read maps , you still could have gone for a walk in the area. As Jo said , new tracks have appeared in the area ,even since an earlier rogaine event a few months ago..
This Saturday we will head to Matakanui ,bus will depart corner Walton & Thompson street corner at 12:30pm with M-Zs duty pack this week. Remember $5 to help cover bus cost
A reminder Clyde Alex 10k race coming up on 28 August , Jo still looking for volunteers to help out. Marshal for full race requires your help for around 2hours,kids 2-4km off road race only about ½ hour so not a great burden for anyone .
Also Barrie will put together a grocery hamper raffle prize for the 10k, so will be collecting any non perishable grocery items for it, that you would like to donate. He has a box in the trailer for donated items.
There is a possibility we may need to change venue , as we believe there will be a group hunting in the Matakanui area and are still awaiting landowner confirmation
If we change venue we will try to get a late email out , but will still meet at 12:30pm for the bus .
