Roxburgh Gorge this Saturday

As usual harrier day brought out the springtime sunshine last Saturday. After a bit of confusion as to where Butchers Point was, members headed down  the Roxburgh Gorge.

Some went down the right had side of the river and others on the left hand side , Doctors point track. By the time they got over the Shakey Bridge, some were already stripping off layers of clothing.

The W3s headed down the Roxburgh gorge trail ,not always visible ,but definitely audible as they made their way down to Butchers Creek. You will be pleased to note that if you looked across the river  W3s , you would have been looking at Butchers Point.

The other groups headed down the Doctors Point track ,some looping up into the hills , others going down river to various places before looping back.

I was a bit concerned about the W2 group , they started with 28 , 10 split off to go up the gully leaving 18 to carry on down stream. Then 12 turned back leaving 6 still going down stream .I am not sure what happened as they appeared like rabbits to have gone and multiplied , as suddenly there were several runners and even more walkers. Or maybe it was just the running pack and W1s having caught up. The cameras seemed to be out and about as well, as plenty of photos to choose from this week.

It must have been a warm day as the billy was drained and a big turnout at the pub afterwards as well. Thirsty work these harrier  outings

This week we will head upriver past the Ngapara Pools. Please note change to normal meeting Place.

We will meet in the parking area by the big gold nugget by the boat ramp at the end of Dunorling Street at 1:00pm ,to scan in for Covid (last time  ?) and  to sign in  with the M-Zs duty pack. Coming over the Alex bridge you go past the police station on your left, round past the council buildings, take the first left Dunorling street heading back towards the river. If you get to the river you have gone too far. Look to the right and you should see the rest of us..

Another fine harrier day has been booked in with our local weather god so hope to see you all there.
