Get the low down on Lowburn

Spring is definitely here , it’s a bit warmer, the trees are in blossom ,folk are out on the lake in their boats , and there are plenty of folk out there walking and running around. Saturday saw 55 or so harriers explore the Lowburn area.

Who was that masked man driving the bus ? Zorro ? Wrong type of mask fool, put the one on that covers your nose and mouth.

Ah racing checker mask ,hope that doesn’t mean we are in for a fast trip. One person was observed wearing a mask on bus ,but not in pub. Perhaps they should fit a sterilization shower in the doorway of the bus.(or the pub)

From the Lowburn inlet most groups either headed along the lake front  or up onto the sugar loaf terrace , or a combination  of both. Parts of the 45 south track as well as Pisa Moorings were explored. The local from the area  demonstrated his simian abilities to get across the creek , the rest of us just used the bridge a little further upstream.

It would have been a fine day to hold the Clyde Alex 10k race ,but it was not to be. For those wondering what happened to the grocery items donated for the 10k raffle , I understand the local community foodbank has received these items.

This week we head for Butchers Point which is  a subdivision at the top of the half mile. Confused ? well some folk are.

So this Saturday meet 1:00pm corner Walton and Thompson streets , scan in to covid19 and harriers with your name in the book , and then we will likely head down the Lake Roxburgh river tracks. The different groups may go on the left hand bank (Doctors Point track )  or the right hand bank (Roxburgh Gorge trail ). The A-Ls will be duty pack this week.

Some sunshine has been booked in so will see you there.
