Waikerikeri this Saturday

Blue skies and sunshine for yet another harrier outing , must be in the weather god’s good books. Around 60 members turned up for  a wander  in the Waikerikeri area on Saturday at the end of the road.

Most groups took off up Lilico Spur track. The runners went up and then over to the old stone sheep yards before returning to the cars. Others went up and back down the track whilst some tried going cross country as well. The W3s  couldn’t avoid all the hills but did manage a lower altitude walk.

This week the W1s did split up again ,some coming down the track ,whilst several followed Peter down to the creek. They were only 15 minutes late this week , but talk about slow learners. Only one appeared unscratched , the rest appeared to have gone through a car wash with a dozen very annoyed cats.  Perhaps the matagouri is some sort of acupuncture therapy.

A number of members were sporting their new club T shirts, the blue makes it so much easier to find Wally.

Sounds like we will still be in level2 Covid restrictions ,so have passed on information received regarding masks and the Russian vaccine.

Covid 19 strikes again. Level 2 restrictions and advice from insurance, health & Safety adviser and worksafe has led to the decision

To cancel the Clyde Alex 10k race for 2020.

Change again this week to venue at Fruitlands as advised on Saturday due to shearing taking place. So we will head for the Clyde Bridge and take in the river track or forgotton highway instead. So meet 1:00pm corner Walton & Thompson streets to car pool out with A-Ls duty pack this week.  Hopefully the committee will come up with a cunning plan for 5 September as well.

I’m back on call for work this week , so as long as the phone stays quiet, should see you there.
