Bend it at Bendigo

Well the rain stayed  away from yet another harrier outing at Bendigo. Numbers were down from recent outings , but it was definitely cooler and windier at Bendigo compared to Alexandra.( The weather god looking after me ,rather than you lot )

Alan Hansen led the W1s  walking group ,deciding he knew a shortcut to another track. Sounds like he has been getting secret training from Peter Dymock , as the group encountered cliffs , massive boulders ,Kanauka ,Briar, Matagouri and other sharp plants.

(No exaggerations here eh ).  Rumour has it they never did find the other track. Oh well ,just another harrier outing then. Brian who had been recuperating from a serious mountain bike crash , was not sure this walk was ideal for his recovery.

A group of 3 runners also did not realize how far the Kanuka track was ,texting back to afternoon tea that they would like to be picked up on the journey home.

Afternoon tea was not that pleasant either , with the strong wind ,members sheltered in cars . The milk for afternoon tea was nice and fresh and cool , still having a break in Glenda’s fridge at home.

This Saturday is the penultimate harrier outing for the 2020 season. It is a mystery bus tour ( I believe you will still have to walk or run somewhere ), destination unknown.
