Flat Top Hill

It was another typical Central Otago autumn day, calm conditions and great views of the autumn colours.

The W3 walkers stayed on the lower edges of the hills around Butchers Dam. All the other walking and running packs took in some of the trails up on the flat top reserve. It’s a bit of a climb to get up there, but once on the top it is reasonably flat ish.

Russell Ibbotson, a club runner from the 1980s early 1990s made a reappearance and led the slower runners on a marathon effort - out for 2 1/4hrs. Glad I had enough sense to stay clear.

It was another enjoyable outing for the Harrier club with no one lost.  I did notice Peter D. rode his mountain bike out and back to town via the river track - that’s quite a climb up from the river.
