Bannockburn Bazooka

Ooops!

I’m sorry, the meeting place for this weeks outing is the Alexandra Bowling Club in Boundary Road, first on the right on the way to the real swimming pool.

So the revised paragraph should read…

This week there is a local outing from the Alexandra Bowling Club in Boundary Road, first on the right on the way to the real swimming pool.  Unfortunately, the advertised orienteering won’t be happening but I’m sure we’ll make some bad decisions in choosing routes without the aid of maps.  Duty pack are the A to L’s.

Sorry

Hi Folks

I have caught the weekly email bug this week.  I’m not as loquacious as Gary nor do I have the Gaynor’s presidential hype.

Wearing my treasurer hat…this is a reminder that subscriptions are due by the end of the month, that’s $40 per person.  If you haven’t already paid then please do so in the next ten days.  You can pay by internet banking, the Club’s account number is 03 1733 0004935 00, please remember to put your name in as a reference.  Or if you prefer you can pay by cash or cheque.

Last Saturday around 40 of us headed for Bannockburn with John Watson at the wheel.  Unfortunately the absence of our local weather god for over a week had been noticed by the weather.  We left Alexandra in bright, warm sunshine and headed in to thick fog in the Cromwell Gorge.  Most of us didn’t see the sun when we were getting our exercise but some of the intrepid W3s did see the sun, and a pylon, and it sounds like the runners managed to get above the fog too.  There are several photos to prove this!  On the way home we managed to steam the bus up pretty well, with a couple of stops to wipe the windscreen, things were just coming right when we broke out of the fog in the Gorge.  Alexandra had been bathed in sun all afternoon, bugger.

This week there is a local outing from the old pool, that’s Centennial Park or the intersection of Thompson/Walton/Rivers Streets if you’re not familiar with my jargon.  Unfortunately, the advertised orienteering won’t be happening but I’m sure we’ll make some bad decisions in choosing routes without the aid of maps.  Duty pack are the A to L’s.

Cheers

john
