Alexandra Bowling Club

Well, we may be in Spring but winter wanted one last brush, with fresh snow on the mountains and a lazy southerly breeze for our outing last Saturday. This did not deter around 40 members turning up at the Alexandra Bowling Club for a local wander.

Most groups headed out through the pines before venturing up Hillview Road,  the runners heading around the airport and water races. Some of the other runners and walkers headed on to Boothill, taking in some of the bike tracks. The walkers had time for a couple of photos and decided some pieces of wood looked like a couple of old fossilised walkers having a cuppa.

I am not sure where the W3s got to, I’m sure it was probably a circuit of the town’s pubs and coffee shops. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking.

It was a pleasant enough afternoon out of the wind, but one certainly noticed that southerly when exposed to it.

All decided it was very civilised to have afternoon tea sitting down in chairs at tables. After a well earned cuppa, it was not far at all to find a drink at the bar. We were able to sit in comfort and watch the passing rain showers go by.

Good timing once again!
