Knobby Range Half Marathon

Last Saturday was ok for a long walk from Roxburgh to Alex. Blue skies but not too hot.

About 50 odd members turned up for a local walk  from Centennial Park , or a half marathon over the Knobby Range. Not sure of exact numbers but 20 ish walkers and 3 runners took the opportunity to sneak in a half marathon.

Bus driver Dave made it easier for them delivering them right to the starting gate and not a couple of km down the road. It was a grand old day for it and they were back for a very welcome cuppa by 3:40pm.

Meantime at 1pm  30ish walkers met for a local outing ,one group taking in the tracks on Boot Hill . Another group headed on down the doctors Point track whilst I believe the W3s may have headed over the bridge onto the river track there.. Spring has definitely sprung with blossom blooming and the willows getting that very green tinge.

At this time of year lambing is in progress ,so our remaining outings are normally on public tracks or on the DOC estate.

So this Saturday we head for Flat Top reserve at Butchers Dam. Meet corner Walton & Thompson streets at 1:00pm to car pool out , with the A-Ls duty pack this week.

As long as I get no calls from work, hope to see you there. I have arranged some more sunshine for Saturday
