Waikerikeri Valley Wandering

Last Saturday started with a light frost  but warmed up to a pleasant autumn day for the Harrier outing at Waikerikeri

A keen group of walkers headed out in the morning to get a good walk up the Lillico track.

Everyone else met up at 1pm to car pool out to the end of the Waikerikeri valley. Some vehicles drove through the small ford , but the Wai creek troll grabbed  the number plates off a couple of vehicles before spitting them back out into the creek , forcing the drivers to play  go fish.

Some groups set off up the creek ,reportedly 9 creek crossings involved on that particular walk. That’s one direction so assuming they came back down that’s another 9.

Other groups tried to keep dry feet ,going uphill to a water race whilst others went up the hill along the Lillico track.

The runners managed to get up to the microwave station before heading  back down.

By now the club should have a number  of members currently first aid trained with training done on Sunday. Hopefully training will not be needed at harriers.
