Moorish Manorburn and Middlemarch

Greetings Harriers

Another week has been and gone. Saturday was a typical harrier day ,winter blue skies and sunshine from Alexandra to Middlemarch.

About 16 members headed down to camp Sutton for a wander around the hills in the Middlemarch area. Looks like a wonderful day down there and found a couple of gullies to explore.  Sunday cloudy like Alex.

About  3 dozen members  who remained behind in Alex headed out to Galloway to explore the Tucker Hill area and Lower Manorburn dam areas. Although  some did not expect any ice to be present, there was a thin layer of ice on the dam, but no one was keen to go for a very quick skate. All enjoyed their afternoon outing and were back for that cuppa on time . A few had to backtrack a little as they were not keen on fording the Manorburn and had to go back along the track to cross the rail trail bridge.

This Saturday the club heads out to the Ida Valley to  Oturehua , the bus leaving corner Walton & Thompson streets at 12:30pm with

A-Ls duty pack.

I am back on call for work this week so will not be there on Saturday but will try to rustle up some reasonable weather again.
