Arrowtown Adventure

Saturday dawned cloudy and cold and by midday as the harriers boarded the bus to Arrowtown ,the temperature  was only 6 C . However by the time we got to Arrowtown the temperature had risen to the high teens as over 50 members set off to explore the Arrowtown area.

Most groups took in Sawpit gully track or part of it as well as Bush Creek track , whilst I  am sure the W3s would have done a circuit of all the wine bars in town ,seeing as Jill was not there to keep them in line.

It was a good turnout of members in pleasant walking running conditions and the autumn colours were till about. Only down side was a few creek crossings on the Sawpit track. All were back by 3:30pm for afternoon tea at the bus.

This Saturday we are off to one of the club’s original venues ,Little Valley. It is always a popular outing so meet at 1:00pm corner Walton & Thompson Streets to catch the bus out with M-Zs duty pack this week.

For those wanting a longer walk ,walking out to Little Valley meet at 11:30am with your lunch. Barb Hall will lead a W2 group and John Thompson will lead a W1 group

First Aid course , Maryon should have been in contact with those who have put their names  down. It is scheduled for Sunday 19 May at Dunstan High school. Please pay your $80 by this Friday.

There is still room for 2 more people, so if you are a harrier club member the cost is $80,otherwise it will be $160. Maryon can be contacted at the club email address info@alexharriers.co.nz

That’s about it for another week , some decent weather has been booked in for harriers for Saturday

So I will see you all at Little Valley
