You only need to pay the Registered Membership subscription if you intend competing in Otago Athletics or Athletics New Zealand running races. It will save you paying a $5 or $10 additional entry fee and qualify you to win Championship events. There is a partial registration scheme that saves you the additional fee but doesn't qualify you for Championship events. Ask Ewan Fallow for details of this scheme that will cost you $45 instead of $70.
